Superior Video Cattle Auction
Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 03/21/2014 - Close
***Including replacement stock at the bottom of the report***
Offerings: 34,500 Last Sale March 7th: 35,000
Compared to the last sale March 14th: Feeder steers steady to 2.00
higher. Feeder heifers steady to 1.00 higher. Steer calves 5.00-10.00
higher. Heifer calves steady to 4.00 lower. Bulk of the current calf
trades were coming out of the south. Demand continues very good for most
all classes. More cattle being offered for fall delivery. Supply
included 51 percent steers and heifers over 600 lbs, 59 percent of
supply steers and 41 percent heifers. Receipts included 49 percent
from South Central, 14 percent from North Central, 29 percent from the
East, and 8 percent from the West. Prices FOB based on net weights after
a 2-3 percent pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3-6 cent slide on
yearlings and 4-10 on calves. Deliveries current through November 2014.
