Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 06/27/2014 - Close

Offerings: 15,500 Last Sale June 20th: 13,050
Compared to the last sale June 20th: Current trades lightly tested.
Few feeder steers sold 3.00-10.00 higher. Heifers not well tested but
higher undertone noted. Demand again extremely good for all classes.
Rains have fallen over much of the extreme drought areas of the country
leaving some much needed relief. Supply included 55 percent steers and
heifers over 600 lbs, 58 percent of supply steers and 42 percent heifers.
Receipts included 44 percent from South Central, 6 percent North Central,
49 percent East, 1 percent West. Prices FOB based on net weights after a
2-3 percent pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3-6 cent slide on
yearlings and 4-10 on calves. Deliveries current through November 2014.
