Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/25/2018
***Final Report including Replacement cows and Weigh Cows***

Offerings:  19,200          Last Sale 01/10-11/2018:  70,100

   Compared to the last sale:  Feeder steers steady to 4.00 higher.  Feeder
heifers lightly tested this sale but a higher undertone is noted.  Light
weight, grazing cattle in a limited comparison of last sale but a sharply
higher undertone is noted.  Demand good for most all classes.  Demand 
surprisingly good for grazing cattle despite drought conditions that run
the North Texas, much of Oklahoma and Kansas.  Slaughter cattle sold higher
last week but the Bears continue to hang around.  Cattle futures tanked on
the close Thursday as speculators fear the upcoming COF on Friday.
Direction of the market is difficult to find.
   Supply includes 67 percent over 600 lbs; 56 percent of supply steers; 
44 percent heifers.  Receipts included 65 percent from South Central; 17 
percent North Central; 13 percent East; 5 percent West.  Prices FOB 
based on net weights after a 2-3 percent pencil shrink or equivalent,
with a 4-8 cent slide on yearlings and 8-12 cent slide on calves.  
Current deliveries are cattle that will deliver up to 14 days from the
last sale day of the video.  Deliveries current to September 2018.
