Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 04/16/2014

   Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers and heifers under 425 lbs 4.00-
10.00 lower, over 425 lbs steady to 4.00 lower. Slaughter cows steady. 
Supply moderate. Near 25 percent of the offering was cows and 20 percent of
the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 59 percent steers
and bulls and 41 percent heifers. Lower feeder trade partly due to less buying
power and fewer numbers to work with although the cheaper light new crop calf
trade is probably real and demand driven.   

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 and 1-2  350-400 lbs 217.50-228.00; 400-
500 lbs 215.00-234.00; 500-600 lbs 196.00-208.50; 600-700 lbs 180.00-198.00, 
small package fleshy calves 600 lbs 183.00. 

   Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 and 1-2  300-400 lbs 200.00-218.00; 
400-500 lbs 197.00-208.00; 500-600 lbs 175.00-195.00; 600-700 lbs 163.00-
177.00; small package fleshy 700 lbs 148.50. Medium and Large 2  small package 
410 lbs 187.50. Medium 1-2  small package 435 lbs 176.00. 

   Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2  400-500 lbs 208.00-213.00; 500-550 lbs
186.00-188.00; 650-730 lbs 150.00-163.00.

   Replacement Cows: Medium and Large 1-2, few 6 years to short and solid, 1000-
1300 lbs, second stage 1300.00-1485.00 per head. 

   Cow and calf pairs: Medium and Large 1-2, 4-7 years, 975-1050 lbs, bred back
in the first to second stage with 250-325 lb calves 2350.00-2625.00 per pair. 
Medium and Large 1-2, few 4 years to short and solid, 950-1100 lbs, with baby
to 150 lb calves 1600.00-1685.00; Broken mouth, 1175 lbs, with baby calves 
1435.00 per pair.
