Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 10/21/2015

Based on very limited comparisons from last week, feeder steers under
450 lbs 10.00-20.00 higher, over 450 lbs 2.00-6.00 higher. Feeder heifers under
450 lbs 10.00-15.00 higher, over 450 lbs 2.00-5.00 higher. Slaughter cows 4.00-
7.00 higher. Supply light. Near 19 percent of the offering were cows and 24
percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 65 percent
steers and bulls and 35 percent heifers. The feeder market is continuing on the
upswing with futures prices making strong advances over the last week and cash
feedlot sales expected to be another 2.00-4.00/cwt higher this week.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 and 1-2 300-400 lbs 270.00-306.00; 400-
500 lbs 229.00-269.00; 500-600 lbs 196.00-224.00, small package fleshy 585 lbs
189.00; 650-700 lbs few fleshy/full 182.00-188.00; 700-800 lbs 186.50-193.50,
small package fleshy 740 lbs 179.50.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 and 1-2 350-400 lbs 193.00-242.00; 400-
500 lbs 190.00-220.00; 500-600 lbs 179.00-197.00, small package fleshy 525 lbs
181.00; 600-610 lbs few calves/full 172.00-177.50. Medium 1-2 600-650 lbs
167.00-177.00.
Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 450-500 lbs 206.00-226.00; 500-600 lbs
