Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 8/10/2016
Receipts: 830 Week Ago: n/a Year Ago: 674
Compared to the sale two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers 8.00-10.00
higher. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 higher. Supply light. Near 7 percent of the
offering were cows and 45 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder
supply approximately 67 percent steers and bulls and 33 percent heifers. The
feeder market has seen its best stretch in several months over the past
couple of weeks due to recent strength in slaughter prices and cheaper feed
costs.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 174.00-189.00; 500-600 lbs
161.00-178.50; 600-700 lbs 157.00-169.25, small package fleshy 605 lbs 155.00;
700-750 lbs 154.25-163.00. Medium and Large 1-2 350-400 lbs 176.00-190.00;
400-500 lbs 165.00-179.50; 500-600 lbs 155.00-165.00; 600-700 lbs 151.00-
157.50. Medium 1-2 package 720 lbs 148.50.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 small package 360 lbs 170.00; 400-
500 lbs 158.50-163.00; 500-600 lbs 150.50-158.00, several fleshy 149.25-
151.00; small package 665 lbs 144.75. Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs
151.75-164.00; 500-600 lbs 153.00-157.00; 600-700 lbs 138.75-150.75. Medium
and Large 2 package thin 500 lbs 155.10.
Feeder bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 400-500 lbs 149.00-174.00; 550-600 lbs
