Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 10/26/2016

Receipts:  575    Week Ago:  758    Year Ago: 947

   Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers under 600 lbs 4.00-6.00 higher, 
over 600 lbs not well tested. A few heifers under 600 lbs steady to 4.00 
higher, over 600 lbs not well tested. Slaughter cows steady. Supply light. 
Near 34 percent of the offering were cows and 22 percent of the feeders were
over 600 lbs. The cattle market has rebounded from recent lows with a higher
slaughter trade and gains in futures prices over the past 10 days. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 and 1-2  300-400 lbs 151.00-157.00; 400-
500 lbs 138.00-153.50; 500-600 lbs 126.00-140.00; 600-700 lbs 112.00-122.75.
Large 1  few 550 lbs 118.00-122.00. 

   Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 and 1-2  350-400 lbs 117.00-121.00; 
400-500 lbs 116.00-125.00; 500-600 lbs 106.50-117.75, few fleshy 105.00-
108.00; 650-700 lbs 104.00-106.00; small package 860 lbs 104.00; package 
970 lbs 93.50. Medium and Large 2  small package 330 lbs 108.00 

   Feeder bulls: Medium and Large 1-2  package 425 lbs 140.00; 500-550 lbs
109.00-127.00; 650-700 lbs 94.00-106.00; small package 810 lbs 92.25.

   Package Medium and Large 1-2, short and solid, 1200 lbs, second stage
975.00 per head.

   Cow and calf pairs: Medium and Large 1-2, 3-5 years, 1000-1325 lbs, some 
bred back in first stage with 125-350 lb calves 1550.00-1825.00 per pair.
Medium and Large 1-2, 6 years to short and solid, 1100-1275 lbs, with 
125-275 lb calves 1300.00-1350.00 per pair.
