Heifers in this sale have met minimum standards for reproductive soundness,
pelvic size, frame size, muscle thickness, body condition, and weight. They
have undergone a comprehensive health program, and are guaranteed bred, high
percentage were fetal sexed. There are 15 Tear 2 AI bred heifers. Approximately
45 percent of the offering were Teir 2 Show Me Select heifers. This means that
they have met requirements and are out high accuracy sires. Several herds have
8 to 9 generations of stacked pedigrees. Several consignors feed their cattle
and get top premium at U.S. Premium Beef on steers mates. All heifers are
expected to calve from late January to late March. Within the offering, 14
head of Registered Angus, Registered Red Angus and Registered Simmentals.
Heifers were graded and sorted into uniform lots according to projected calving
dates and body type similarity. Demand was higher than our May sale with a
smaller than average of cattle producers attending.
Supply consisted of 64 bred heifers from 9 producers, in 35 lots selling
to 15 different buyers, with a sale average of $2099.00 per head. There were 15
head of Teir 2-AI bred heifers, with an average sale price of $2223.00; 14 head
Teir 2 natural bred heifers, with an average price of $1879.00; 16 head Teir 1-
AI bred heifers, with an average price $2238.00; 19 Teir 1 natural bred heifers,
with an average price $2047.00, $2231.00 was the average price of all AI bred
and $1976.00 average of natural bred heifers.
Replacement Heifers: Large 1, 1083-1400 lbs, 2nd and 3rd stage, $1900.00-
$2500.00 per head. Large 1-2 Reg. Angus, Reg. Red Angus and Reg. Simmentals,
1050-1310 lbs, 2nd and 3rd stage $1900.00-$2950.00 per head. Medium and Large 1-2,
1025-1237 lbs, 2nd and 3rd stage $1850.00-$2300.00 per head. Medium 1, few 1010-
1115 lbs, 2nd and 3rd stage, $1600.00-$2100.00 per head.
