Compared to last week, Slaughter steers sold mostly 3.00-4.00 lower
with some steadiness noted in High Choice and Prime steers. Demand was
good. Slaughter Holstein steers sold mostly steady to weak with moderate
demand. Slaughter Heifers sold firm on a very light test. Demand was
good due in part to the lighter run and the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 1.00 higher. Demand was good. Cattle
supplies included 345 steers; 63 heifers; 447 cows; 23 bulls; and
31 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1250-1550 lbs 155.50-
158.50; Choice 2-3 1250-1700 lbs 153.50-156.00; Select 1-3 1350-1750
lbs 149.00-153.25.
Slaughter Holsteins: Choice 2-3 1350-1600 lbs 137.00-140.00. Select 1-2
1300-1750 lbs 132.00-137.00.
Slaughter Heifers: Few High Choice and Prime 3-4 1150-1400 lbs 153.00-
157.75; Few Choice 2-3 1150-1500 lbs 149.00-151.00. Few Select 2-3 1100-1400

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bull
calves sold uneven with Number 1 and 2 calves selling mostly 20.00-60.00
higher and Number 3 and Utility calves selling unevenly steady. Demand was
good. Holstein heifer calves sold mostly steady to weak. Ag Market News LLC
under the USDA-QSA-LMAR program graded 468 head for Thursday's sale. All
calves are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 120-128 lbs 492.00; 98-118 lbs 542.00-
575.00; 90-96 lbs 645.00-685.00. Number 2 112-120 lbs 490.00-535.00; 98-110 lbs
557.00-580.00; 88-96 lbs 615.00-647.00; 80-86 lbs 695.00. Number 3 100-130 lbs
485.00-490.00; 90-98 lbs 560.00-569.00; 72-88 lbs 595.00-597.00. Utility 100-110
