Compared to last week, Slaughter steers sold steady to 1.00 lower.
Slaughter Holstein steers sold mostly 2.00-3.00 higher. Slaughter heifers
sold steady on a very light test. Demand was good. Slaughter cows sold
mostly 4.00-5.00 higher. Demand was good. Apparent shortage of Slaughter
cows this week had buyers scrambling to keep plants stocked. Slaughter
bulls sold steady on a very light test. Demand was good. Cattle supplies
included 296 steers; 58 heifers; 361 cows; 14 bulls; and 13 feeder calves.

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bull
calves sold mostly 90.00-100.00 higher. Demand was very good. Holstein
heifer calves sold 30.00-40.00 higher. Ag Market News LLC under the
USDA-QSA-LMAR program graded 455 head for Thursday's sale. All calves
are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 114-128 lbs 350.00-360.00; 106-
112 lbs 377.00-405.00; 90-104 lbs 435.00-470.00. Number 2 112-128 lbs
350.00-357.00; 102-110 lbs 420.00-445.00; 80-100 lbs 460.00-500.00.
Number 3 100-130 lbs 410.00-425.00; 80-98 lbs 340.00-400.00; 72-78 lbs
