Compared to last week, slaughter steers sold mostly 4.00-6.00 lower.
High dressing Lean Steers are steers are sold primarily to the ethnic
market and most are extremely lean. Those steers sold mostly 4.00-6.00
lower. Slaughter Holstein steers sold mostly 4.00-6.00 lower compared
to a light test. Not enough Slaughter heifers for a market test. Demand
was moderate to low for all classes. Breaking and Boning Slaughter cows
sold mostly steady while Lean cows sold 1.00-3.00 higher. Demand was
moderate. Slaughter bulls sold 3.00-5.00 higher on a heavier than typical
supply. Cattle supplies included 337 steers; 35 heifers; 469 cows; 55
bulls; and 49 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1250-1600 lbs 114.00-
116.50, few to 118.00. Choice 2-3 1250-1600 lbs 110.00-115.00. Select
1-2 1100-1500 lbs 105.00-110.00. High Dressing Lean Steers 1100-1700 lbs
few 107.00-118.00.
Slaughter Holsteins: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1500-1700 lbs few
105.50-107.00. Choice 2-3 1250-1750 lbs 96.00-100.50. Select 1-2 1300-
1750 lbs 93.50-96.50.

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bull
calves sold mostly 10.00-30.00 higher with instances of 50.00 higher in
number 1 calves. Holstein heifer calves sold mostly 10.00-20.00 higher.
Demand was moderate to good. Ag Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-LMAR
program graded 419 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by the
cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 120-128 lbs 152.00; 94-118 lbs
175.00-190.00; 80-92 lbs 135.00-140.00. Number 2 120-128 lbs 135.00;
106-118 lbs 150.00-167.00; 80-104 lbs 130.00-142.00. Number 3 100-130
lbs 90.00-116.00; 72-98 lbs 125.00-134.00. Utility 60-110 lbs 80.00-
110.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1 80-115 lbs 235.00-295.00. Number 2
70-100 lbs 150.00-250.00. Non-tubing/Utility 60-90 lbs 20.00-40.00.
