Compared to last week, slaughter steers sold mostly steady to 1.00
higher. High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily to the
ethnic market and most are extremely lean. Those steers not reported
last week so no trend this week. Slaughter Holstein steers sold mostly
steady to 3.00 higher with instances of 5.00 higher in High Choice and
Prime steers. Slaughter heifers not tested last week so no trend this
week. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady. Demand was moderate. Slaughter
bulls not reported last week so no trend this week. Cattle supplies
included 216 steers; 53 heifers; 415 cows; 18 bulls; and 45 feeder
calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1300-1600 lbs 101.00-
104.00, 1650-1750 lbs 96.00-99.00. Choice 2-3 1200-1600 lbs 97.00-
100.50. Select 1-2 1200-1600 lbs few 94.00-97.00. High Dressing Lean
Steers 1150-1650 lbs 100.00-112.50.

Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by the cwt.

lbs 35.00-45.00, 60-88 lbs 15.00-25.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1 70-100 lbs 330.00-370.00. Number 2
