Compared to two weeks ago, Slaughter steers sold mostly steady to weak.
Demand good. High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily to the
ethnic market and most are extremely lean. Those steers sold 3.00-4.00
higher compared to a very light test. Slaughter Holstein steers sold
3.00-4.00 higher on good demand. Slaughter heifers sold 1.00-2.00 higher
compared to a light test. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-3.00 higher. Demand
good. Slaughter bulls sold 1.00-2.00 higher compared to a very light test.
Cattle supplies included 280 steers; 144 heifers; 534 cows; 53 bulls; and
20 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1340-1600 lbs 113.00-
120.00. Choice 2-3 1345-1600 lbs 108.00-112.00. Select 1-2 1250-1550

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to the most recent sale two
weeks ago, Graded Holstein bull calves sold 40.00-50.00 lower. Holstein
heifer calves sold weak on a light test. Ag Market News LLC under the
USDA-QSA-LMAR program graded 487 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are
sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 96-130 lbs 70.00-77.00. Number
2 88-128 lbs 70.00-80.00; 80-86 lbs 50.00. Number 3 90-130 lbs 60.00-
62.00; 72-88 lbs 45.00-50.00. Utility 60-110 lbs 20.00-30.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 2 70-110 lbs 80.00-105.00. Number 3
60-100 lbs 30.00-70.00. Utility/Non-tubing 50-110 lbs 11.00-30.00.
