Compared to last week, Slaughter steers sold steady to 1.00 higher.
Demand good. High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily to
the ethnic market and most are extremely lean. Those steers sold mostly
steady. Demand moderate. Slaughter Holstein steers sold steady to 1.00
lower. Slaughter heifers sold firm. Demand moderate. Slaughter cows
sold 1.00-2.00 higher. Demand good. Not enough Slaughter bulls last
week for a comparison. Cattle supplies included 239 steers; 105 heifers;
523 cows; 26 bulls; and 27 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1500-1600 lbs 127.00-
130.00; few 1700-1825 lbs 119.00-122.00. Choice 2-3 1325-1650 lbs
122.00-126.00. Select 1-2 1275-1625 lbs 115.00-122.00. High Dressing
