Compared to last week, Slaughter steers sold steady to 1.00 higher
on moderate demand. High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily
to the ethnic market and most are extremely lean. Those steers sold
mostly steady on moderate demand. Slaughter Holstein steers sold 1.00-
2.00 higher. Slaughter heifers sold firm compared to a light test last
week. Slaughter cows sold 2.00-3.00 lower. Demand moderate. Not enough
Slaughter bulls for a market test. Cattle supplies included 170 steers;
75 heifers; 426 cows; 14 bulls; and 10 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Graded Holstein
bull calves sold mixed. Number 1 and 2 bull calves sold sharply higher on
a light supply while Number 3 and Utility calves sold mostly steady on a
heavy supply. Holstein heifer calves mostly steady compared to a very
light test last week. Ag Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-LMAR program
graded 396 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 100-110 lbs 165.00-172.00.
Number 2 124 lb individual 140.00; 106-118 lbs 170.00-185.00; 98-104 lbs
210.00-212.00; 94-96 lbs 190.00; 80-92 lbs 55.00-60.00. Number 3 80-130
lbs 50.00-62.00; 60-78 lbs 20.00. Utility 60-130 lbs 15.00-30.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 2 80-110 lbs 35.00-50.00. Number 3
70-120 lbs 20.00-40.00. Utility/Non-tubing 50-100 lbs 15.00-35.00.
