Compared to last week, slaughter steers sold 2.00-3.00 lower on a
very light test. Demand good at the lower prices. Ethnic Steers are
steers sold primarily to the ethnic market. Today those steers sold
1.00-2.00 lower on a very light test. Demand moderate. Not enough
Slaughter Holstein steers for a comparison. Slaughter heifers sold
weak on a very light test. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 higher on
good demand. Not enough Slaughter bulls for a market test. Cattle
supplies included 96 steers; 74 heifers; 538 cows; 21 bulls; and
26 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1325-1500 lbs few
117.00-118.00. Choice 2-3 1275-1725 lbs 113.00-116.50. Select 2-3
1300-1550 lbs few 105.00-107.00. Ethnic steers 1300-1850 lbs 112.00-
130.00, mostly 117.00-122.00.
Slaughter Holsteins: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1550 lbs individual
87.00. Choice 2-3 1350-1700 lbs few 80.00-85.00.
Slaughter Heifers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1150-1400 lbs 113.00-

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to a light test last week,
Graded Holstein Bull Calves sold mixed with Number 1 and 2 calves
trading mostly 10.00-30.00 higher and Number 3 and Utility calves
trading steady to 10.00 higher. Holstein Heifer Calves steady to weak
on another light test. Ag Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-LMAR program
graded 457 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 120-130 lbs 50.00; 100-118 lbs
67.00-75.00; 90-98 lbs 45.00. Number 2 112-128 lbs 47.00-57.00; 98-110 lbs
73.00-77.00; 88-96 lbs 42.00-52.00; 80-86 lbs 25.00. Number 3 90-130 lbs
25.00-30.00; 60-88 lbs 10.00-17.00. Utility 60-130 lbs 10.00-15.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1 80-125 lbs 25.00-35.00. Number 2
80-125 lbs 15.00-25.00. Number 3 70-100 lbs 10.00-20.00. Utility/Non-
