Feeder Cattle Weighted Average report for 2/28/2013
Receipts: 950 Last Week: 1150 Year Ago: 890
Compared to last week at the same market, not enough stocker or feeder
cattle for accurate trends, as most were sold on Tuesday night. Trade slow
to moderate with light to moderate demand. Buyer participation was light.
Slaughter cows and bulls 2.00-4.00 higher. Trade active with very good
demand. Slaughter cows were approximately 80 percent of the supply; Slaughter
bulls 10 percent, and feeder?s 10 percent of the supply. The feeder supply
included 19 percent steers and 81 percent heifers. Near 91 percent of the run
weighed over 600 lbs.
