Feeder Cattle Weighted Average report for 2/18/2016

Receipts:  2500    Last Week:  1500    Year Ago:  1245

   Compared to the last Thursday at the same market: not enough stocker or 
feeder cattle last week for accurate price trends. Trade active with good 
demand and good buyer attendance. Slaughter cattle sold cheaper last week but 
remain ahead of the February board. Show-lists were cleared last week thus 
making pen space for feeders and improving demand. Beef prices slipped but 
demand should improve as the weather is expected to warm up for much of the 
country this week. Slaughter cows and bulls firm to 2.00 higher. Trade active 
with good demand as local processors report good meat orders. Slaughter cows 
39 percent, Slaughter bulls 5 percent, and feeders 56 percent of the supply. 
The feeder supply included 48 percent steers and 52 percent heifers. Near 71 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs. Replacement Cows: Pre-tested for 
pregnancy, and age.
