Feeder Cattle Weighted Average report for 5/24/2018
Receipts: 1460 Last Week: 1225 Year Ago: 1550
Compared to last Thursday at the same market, stocker and feeder cattle
firm in a light test as the cattle complex is anticipating a bullish on feed
report that releases later today. Trade active with good demand especially for
small lots to fill pasture needs. Slaughter cows 2.00-3.00 lower. Slaughter
bulls steady. Trade active with good demand. Slaughter cows 45 percent,
slaughter bulls 10 percent, 20 percent replacement cows, and feeders 25
percent of the supply. The feeder supply included 61 percent steers and 39
percent heifers. Near 78 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs. Replacement
Cows: Pre-tested for pregnancy, bangs, and age.
