Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, Mount Airy, North Wilkesboro, 
Norwood, Siler City, Smithfield, Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday, 
May 22, 2014

Cattle Receipts:  5013          Last Week:  5356          Last Year:  4147

Compared to last week, slaughter cows trended mostly steady; bulls were mixed, 
1.00 lower to 7.00 higher.  Feeder cattle were mostly 2.00 to 10.00 higher.  
Demand was good, market activity and buyer interests were moderate to active.  
The offering of cattle was mostly moderate.  Cattle quality was mostly average.

Slaughter cows made up 16 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, 
replacement cows 1 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 79 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 34 percent steers, 41 percent heifers, and 25 percent 
bulls.  Near 14 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
