Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, Mount Airy, North Wilkesboro, Siler 
City, Smithfield, and Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday, June 19, 2014.

Cattle Receipts:  3806          Last week:  6048          Last Year:  4376

Compared to last week, slaughter cows trended mostly steady to 1.00 higher; 
bulls were mostly steady to 2.00 lower.  Feeder steers and heifers were 
unevenly steady; bulls trended mostly steady to 3.00 higher.  Demand was good, 
market activity and buyer interest were active.  The offering of cattle was 
light to moderate due to unseasonably high temperatures.  Cattle quality was 
mostly average.

Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 77 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 37 percent steers, 37 percent heifers, and 25 percent 
bulls.  Near 15 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
