Weighted Average Auction report of Canton, Mount Airy, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, 
Siler City, Smithfield and for the Week Ending Thursday Sep 11, 2014

Cattle Receipts:  5685          Last week:  3140            Last Year:  5649

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to 2.00 higher, bulls steady to 
8.00 higher. Feeder steers steady to 15.00 higher, bulls mostly 4.00 to 6.00 higher, 
heifers mostly steady to 5.00 higher. Demand was good. Offerings were moderate with 
average cattle quality.

Slaughter cows made up 16 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 1 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 79 percent. The feeder 
supply included 38 percent steers, 38 percent heifers, and 24 percent bulls. Near 17 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
