Weighted Average Auction report of Canton, North Wilkesboro, Siler City, Smithfield, 
and Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Oct 9, 2014

Cattle Receipts:  5021          Last week:  5424           Last Year:  5177

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly 3.00 lower, bulls steady to 1.00 
lower. Feeder cattle were mostly steady to 7.00 higher. There were mostly moderate 
offerings with good demand. Quality was average. Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of 
the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, replacement cows 1 percent, other cows 1 
percent, and feeders 79 percent.  The feeder supply included 32 percent steers, 43 
percent heifers, and 25 percent bulls. Near 17 percent of the run weighed over 600 
lbs.
