Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, Siler City, 
Smithfield, Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Jan 22, 2015

Cattle Receipts:  5326          Last Week:  4329          Last Year:  6234

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly steady, bulls 4.00 to 6.00 lower. 
Feeder cattle were mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Demand, buyer activity and offerings 
were moderate. Quality was average. Slaughter cows made up 18 percent of the 
offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, replacement cows 1 percent, other cows 1 
percent, and feeders 78 percent.  The feeder supply included 35 percent steers, 42 
percent heifers, and 23 percent bulls. Near 12 percent of the run weighed over 600 
lbs.
