Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, 
Siler City, Smithfield, Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Feb 12, 
2015

Cattle Receipts:  4007    Last week:  3242    Last year:  4157

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were ***steady to 3.00*** higher; 
while slaughter bulls were 2.00 to 9.00 higher.  Feeder steers were 
mixed, bulls were mostly 1.00 to 8.00 higher, and heifers were mixed.  
Demand was good, market activity and buyer interest were mostly active.  
Offerings of cattle were mostly moderate.  Cattle quality was mostly 
average.

Slaughter cows made up 21 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 
percent, replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 74 
percent.  The feeder supply included 33 percent steers, 40 percent 
heifers, and 27 percent bulls. Near 17 percent of the run weighed over 
600 lbs.
