Weighted Average Auction report of Canton, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, Siler City, 
Smithfield and Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday May 21, 2015

Cattle Receipts:  4259          Last week:  4418            Last Year:  5013

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to 2.00 lower, bulls steady to 1.00 
lower. Feeder steers were mostly steady to 2.00 higher, heifers and bulls mostly 
steady. Demand, buyer activity and offerings were moderate. Quality was average.
Slaughter cows made up 16 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, 
replacement cows 3 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 77 percent. The feeder 
supply included 36 percent steers, 37 percent heifers, and 26 percent bulls. Near 15 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
