Weighted Average Auction report of Siler City, Turnersburg, North Wilkesboro, 
Norwood, Shelby and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday Feb 18, 2016

Cattle Receipts:  2041          Last week:  3205            Last Year:  775

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were steady to 5.00 higher. Feeder cattle 
were mostly 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Demand and market activity were moderate. Offerings 
were lighter than average due to inclement weather. Quality was mostly average.

Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 78 percent.  The feeder 
supply included 33 percent steers, 38 percent heifers, and 28 percent bulls. Near 19 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
