Weighted Average Auction report of Canton, Siler City, Turnersburg, North Wilkesboro 
and Norwood for the Week Ending Thursday Mar 24, 2016. Shelby and Smithfield were not 
available at the time the report was released.

Cattle Receipts:  4826          Last week:  6081           Last Year:  5867

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were mostly steady to 3.00 lower. Feeder 
cattle were mostly steady to 7.00 higher. Demand was good with moderate buyer 
interest. Offerings were higher and quality was plain to average.

Slaughter cows made up 14 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, 
replacement cows 3 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 81 percent.  The feeder 
supply included 29 percent steers, 41 percent heifers, and 30 percent bulls. Near 17 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
