Weighted Average Auction report of of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, North 
Wilkesboro, Norwood, Shelby and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday May 26, 2016

Cattle Receipts:  3364          Last week:  3570            Last Year:  2930

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were 2.00 to 4.00 higher, bulls 2.00 higher. 
Feeder cattle were mostly 3.00 to 12.00 lower. Demand for cattle was moderate on 
light offerings. Cattle quality this week was mostly plain and average. Slaughter 
cows made up 16 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, replacement cows 
4 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 76 percent.  The feeder supply included 
33 percent steers, 40 percent heifers, and 27 percent bulls. Near 24 percent of the 
run weighed over 600 lbs.
