Weighted Average Auction report of Canton, Siler City, Turnersburg, North Wilkesboro, 
Norwood, Shelby, Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday Jun 9, 2016

Cattle Receipts:  4035          Last week:  2559              Last Year:  4763

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly steady to 2.00 higher and bulls 
mostly steady to 4.00 higher. Feeder cattle were mostly 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Demand, 
market activity and offerings were moderate. Quality ranged from plain to average. 

Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, 
replacement cows 4 percent, other cows 0 percent, and feeders 77 percent.  The feeder 
supply included 26 percent steers, 43 percent heifers, and 31 percent bulls. Near 23 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
