Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, Shelby, North 
Wilkesboro, Norwood and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday Feb 16, 2017

Cattle Receipts:  4187          Last week:  4944              Last Year:  2041

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady, bulls mixed. Feeder cattle were 
mostly 2.00 to 6.00 higher. Demand, buyer activity and offerings were moderate. 
Quality ranged from plain to average. Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of the 
offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, replacement cows 4 percent, and feeders 77 
percent.  The feeder supply included 32 percent steers, 39 percent heifers, and 28 
percent bulls. Near 20 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
