Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, Mount Airy, 
Shelby, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday, 
June 21, 2018

Cattle Receipts:  3718          Last week:  4857          Last year:  4369

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were mostly steady.  Feeder steers and 
heifers were mostly steady to 6.00 lower, while bulls were mostly steady to 
8.00 lower.  Demand was mostly moderate; market activity and buyer interest 
were moderate.  Offerings of cattle were light to moderate.  Cattle quality was 
plain to average.

Slaughter cows made up 18 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 76 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 33 percent steers, 39 percent heifers, and 28 percent 
bulls.  Near 19 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
