Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, Mount Airy, 
Shelby, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday, 
June 28, 2018

Cattle Receipts:  3913          Last week:  3718          Last year:  3999

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were mostly steady to 3.00 higher; 
while feeder cattle were mostly steady to 4.00 lower.  Demand was mostly 
moderate; market activity and buyer interest were moderate.  Offerings of 
cattle were light to moderate.  Cattle quality was plain to average.

Slaughter cows made up 20 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 4 percent, 
replacement cows 5 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 71 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 34 percent steers, 35 percent heifers, and 31 percent 
bulls.  Near 19 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
