Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, Mount Airy, 
Shelby, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday, 
November 01, 2018

Cattle Receipts:  5159          Last week:  4316          Last year:  5511

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly steady to 4.00 lower, while 
bulls were mostly steady to 1.00 lower.  Feeder steers and bulls were mostly 
1.00 to 4.00 lower; while heifers were mostly steady to 8.00 lower, few 11.00-
12.00 lower.  Demand was mostly moderate; market activity and buyer interest 
were moderate.  Offerings of cattle were mostly moderate.  Cattle quality was 
plain to average.

Slaughter cows made up 15 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, 
replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 81 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 32 percent steers, 42 percent heifers, and 26 percent 
bulls.  Near 23 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
