Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, Siler City, Turnersburg, Mount Airy, 
Shelby, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday, 
November 29, 2018.  Siler City was closed on Friday, November 23, 2018 in 
observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Cattle Receipts:  4552          Last week:  1772          Last month:  5251

Compared to two weeks ago, slaughter cows were mostly steady to 3.00 higher, 
while bulls were mostly steady to 4.00 higher.  Feeder steers and heifers were 
mostly 2.00 to 6.00 higher; while feeder bulls were mostly 3.00 to 6.00 higher, 
some 8.00 to 9.00 higher.  Demand was mostly moderate; market activity and 
buyer interest were moderate.  Offerings of cattle were mostly moderate.  
Cattle quality was plain to average.

Slaughter cows made up 19 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 5 percent, other cows 2 percent, and feeders 71 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 36 percent steers, 39 percent heifers, and 25 percent 
bulls.  Near 21 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
