Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, Shelby, 
North Wilkesboro, Norwood, and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday, 
April 11, 20119

Cattle Receipts:  4720          Last week:  6181          Last year:  6127

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly 3.00 to 4.00 higher and bulls 
were 1.00 to 4.00 higher.  Feeder steers and heifers were unevenly steady, 
while bulls were mostly 1.00 to 2.00 higher.  Demand was moderate to good, 
mostly good; market activity and buyer interest were moderate to active.  
Offerings of cattle were fairly light to moderate.  Cattle quality was mostly 
plain to average.

Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 3 percent, other cows 0 percent, and feeders 76 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 34 percent steers, 41 percent heifers, and 25 percent 
bulls.  Near 16 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
