National Sheep Summary for Week Ending Friday, February 22, 2013

   Weekly Trends:  Compared to last week slaughter lambs were steady to
5.00 higher, instances 10.00-20.00 higher.  Slaughter ewes were steady to
10.00 higher.  Feeder lambs were steady.  At San Angelo, TX 4869 head
sold in a one day sale.  No sales in Equity Electronic Auction.  In direct
trading slaughter ewes and feeder lambs were not tested.  4400 head of
negotiated sales of slaughter lambs were weak to 2.00 lower and 11,600
head of formula sales of dressed lambs under 65 lbs were not well tested;
over 65 lbs were 1.00-3.00 higher.  5,632 lamb carcasses sold with 45 lbs
and down 10.45 higher; 45-55 lbs 1.75 lower and 55 lbs and up .07-1.51
higher.  All sheep sold per hundred weight (CWT) unless otherwise
specified.
