National Sheep Summary for Week Ending Friday, June 14, 2013
Weekly Trends: Compared to last week slaughter lambs were firm to 8.00
higher, instances 20.00-40.00 higher. Slaughter ewes were mostly steady,
instances 5.00-10.00 lower. Feeder lambs were uneven, mostly steady to 5.00
lower, sharply higher at Ft. Collins. At San Angelo, TX 5797 head sold in a one
day sale. Equity Electronic Auction sold 620 Feeder lambs in Nebraska. In
direct trading slaughter ewes not tested and feeder lambs were 5.00 lower. 5800
head of negotiated slaughter lambs under 170 lbs were mostly 1.00 higher, while
those over 170 lbs were not well tested. Formula lambs under 65 lbs not well
tested; 65-75 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 higher; 75-85 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 lower; over 85 lbs
4.00 to 5.00 lower. 6534 head of lamb carcasses sold Carcasses were mixed:
Carcasses 55# and lighter were 13.00 to 19.00 lower; 55# to 65#'s were 6.50
lower; 65#'s and heavier were generally steady. All sheep sold per hundred
weight (CWT) unless otherwise specified.
