National Sheep Summary for Week Ending Friday, July 26, 2013

   Weekly Trends:  Compared to last week slaughter lambs were very uneven,
mostly steady to 5.00 higher, except at Ft. Collins, CO 3.00 lower and at
New Holland, PA 10.00-20.00 lower.  Slaughter ewes were steady to 5.00
lower, except at San Angelo 5.00-10.00 higher.  Feeder lambs were weak in
light test.  At San Angelo, TX 5937 head sold in a one day sale.  No sales
in Equity Electronic Auction.  In direct trading slaughter ewes were not
tested and feeder lambs were steady.  4300 head of negotiated sales of
slaughter lambs were steady to 1.00 higher and 13,100 head of formula
sales of dressed lambs under 65 lbs were not well tested; 65-75 lbs were
steady to 1.00 lower; 75-85 lbs were 2.00-4.00 higher; 85-95 lbs were
steady to 1.00 higher; over 95 lbs were steady to weak.  6,899 lamb
carcasses sold with 55 lbs and down 3.07-7.57 higher; 55-65 lbs 10.01
lower; 65-85 lbs .96-1.29 lower and 85 lbs and up 29.58 lower.  All sheep
sold per hundred weight (CWT) unless otherwise specified.
