National Sheep Summary for Week Ending Friday, November 01, 2013

Weekly Trends: Compared to last week slaughter lambs were uneven,
mostly steady, except at New Holland, PA where they were 10.00-20.00
lower. Slaughter ewes were mostly steady, except at New Holland 10.00-
20.00 lower. Feeder lambs were uneven, mostly steady, instances 4.00-
12.00 higher. At San Angelo, TX 6651 head sold in a one day sale.
Equity Electronic Auction sold 225 slaughter lambs in North Dakota. In
direct trading slaughter ewes were firm; feeder lambs were steady and
replacement ewes were steady. 3400 head of negotiated sales of slaughter
lambs were 4.00 higher and 11,000 head of formula sales of carcasses
under 55 lbs were not well tested; 55-75 lbs traded 2.00-3.00 higher; 75-
85 lbs were sharply higher and no test on over 85 lbs. 5,645 lamb
carcasses sold with 45 lbs and down steady; 45-55 lbs 8.00 higher; 55 lbs
and up 3.00-5.00 higher. All sheep sold per hundred weight (CWT) unless
otherwise specified.
