Weekly Trends: Compared to last week slaughter lambs were steady to
5.00 higher. Slaughter ewes were steady to 5.00 lower. Feeder lambs
were steady to 8.00 lower, except at Billings, MT steady to 3.00 higher.
At San Angelo, TX 4710 head sold in a one day sale. Equity Electronic
Auction sold 340 slaughter lambs in North Dakota. In direct trading
slaughter ewes and feeder lambs were not tested. 6300 head of negotiated
sales of slaughter lambs were weak and 4900 head of formula sales of
carcasses under 55 lbs were not well tested; 55-65 lbs were 1.00-2.00
higher; 65-75 lbs were 6.00-7.00 higher; 75-85 lbs were steady to 1.00
higher and over 85 lbs were not well tested. 6,601 lamb carcasses sold
with 45 lbs and down 27.10 lower; 45-55 lbs 6.84 lower and 55 lbs and up
steady to 2.00 higher. All sheep sold per hundred weight (CWT) unless
otherwise specified.
