Weekly Trends: Compared to last week traditional slaughter lambs were
steady to 6.00 higher, except those over 165 lbs which were 3.00 lower.
Non-traditional slaughter lambs were mostly 10.00-30.00 higher. Slaughter
ewes were uneven, mostly steady to 8.00 lower. Feeder lambs were firm in
a light test. At San Angelo, TX 2517 head sold in a one day sale. No
sales in Equity Electronic Auction. In direct trading slaughter ewes
were not tested and no comparison on feeder lambs. 2900 head of
negotiated sales of slaughter lambs under 170 lbs were steady to 1.00
higher, over 170 lbs were not well tested. 10,400 head of formula sales
under 65 lbs were not well tested, but a sharply higher undertone noted;
65-75 lbs were 10.00-12.00 lower; 75-95 lbs were 7.00-12.00 higher and
over 95 lbs were 1.00-2.00 lower. 4,789 lamb carcasses sold with 45 lbs
and down 40.93 lower; 45-65 lbs 3.03-4.15 lower; 65-75 lbs 1.22 higher
and 75 lbs and up .08-.79 lower. All sheep sold per hundred weight (CWT)
unless otherwise specified.
