National Sheep Summary for Week Ending Friday, August 26, 2016

   Weekly Trends:  Compared to last week slaughter lambs were mostly
steady; instances 10.00-15.00 higher.  Slaughter ewes were mostly steady
to 8.00 higher.  Feeder lambs were 5.00-20.00 lower.  At San Angelo, TX
7414 head sold.  No sales in Equity Electronic Auction.  In direct
trading slaughter ewes were not tested and no comparison on feeder lambs.
7400 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs were steady to 1.00
lower.  7600 head of formula sales had no trend due to confidentiality.
3,796 lamb carcasses sold with 65 lbs and down no trend due to
confidentiality; 65-75 lbs 2.55 higher; 75-85 lbs no trend due to
confidentiality and 85 lbs and up 4.81 higher.  All sheep sold per
hundred weight (CWT) unless otherwise specified.
