National Sheep Summary for Week Ending Friday, January 20, 2017

   Weekly Trends:  Compared to last week slaughter lambs were 1.00 lower
to sharply lower, except at San Angelo, TX 5.00-10.00 higher.  Slaughter
ewes were steady to 5.00 higher, except at Newell, SD 3.00-13.00 lower.
Feeder lambs were steady to 10.00 lower.  At San Angelo, TX 2777 head
sold.  No sales in Equity Electronic Auction.  In direct trading slaughter
ewes and feeder lambs were not tested.  2500 head of negotiated sales of
slaughter lambs were steady to 2.00 lower.  11,100 head of formula sales
had no trend due to confidentiality.  4,170 lamb carcasses sold with 45
lbs down 3.36 lower; 45-55 lbs no trend due to confidentiality; and 55
lbs up 3.76-5.91 lower.  All sheep sold per hundred weight (CWT) unless
otherwise specified.
